BADEN® PARTNER PROBATTER® DELIVERS NEXT-GENERATION PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PITCHING SIMULATORS
[Sep-6-2006]
Players From Major Leaguers to Enthusiasts Can Take Advantage of Latest Advances in Technology
MILFORD, CT -- ProBatter Sports, the leading developer and manufacturer of professional baseball video pitching simulators, is set to deliver its next-generation ProBatter Professional PX2 this fall. Designed to almost perfectly duplicate the experience of facing live pitching, ProBatter systems are in use throughout the baseball world.
Utilizing proprietary technology, the PX2 is a refinement of the basic ProBatter design, taking advantage of recent advancements in computer and video technology. New features include a larger, brighter touchscreen, combined with a more user-friendly interface. In addition, new software has been created, allowing users to control every feature of the simulator, eliminating the need to adjust the machine for individual hitters. A new feeder system has also been added to deliver balls more reliably in a commercial environment.
"We developed the PX2 to meet the demands of ballplayers and organizations at the highest levels of the game," said Adam Battersby, Executive President of ProBatter Sports. "The system represents a further advancement of our patented ProBatter technology and is the most sophisticated pitching simulator available anywhere."
The PX2 is capable of delivering nearly every pitch a human being can -- and with greater precision and repeatability. The unit, which includes an 8'x10' projection screen on which a DVD quality image of a real pitcher is displayed, can be set to simulate either a righthanded or southpaw pitcher and can throw from either a full windup or the stretch position.
Pitch types include fastballs, sinkers, cutters, splitters, curves, sliders, screwballs, slurves and change-ups -- or any custom pitch the user may want. The PX2 is extremely precise, capable of delivering pitches at speeds between 40 and 100 mph, in increments of 2 mph, all with pinpoint accuracy in a minimum of nine selectable zones both inside and outside the strike zone. A special catcher's sequence is also included for training catchers to block pitches in the dirt.
The PX2 can be programmed in a variety of ways, making it easy to be customized to the needs of individual players wishing to work on particular areas of their hitting. The unit can be set to deliver in three modes: auto, manual or repeat, and strike zones can also be customized for the user.
The ProBatter PX2 breaks new ground in other ways. Priced at $44,950, the simulator is tens of thousands of dollars less than previous models, taking advantage of advances in technology to create an all-new machine with the same high level of quality users have come to expect from ProBatter products.
ProBatter Sports has also introduced the ProBatter II-HP conversion kit. Utilizing the same proprietary technology as the self-contained ProBatter pitching simulators, including the PX2, the HP model is designed to transform an existing Home Plate pitching machine into a full-fledged ProBatter system.
Offering many of the same features as the PX2, the HP system is intended for lighter duty applications where a heavy-duty machine may not be necessary, including high schools, recreational leagues and home installations. Priced at only $14,500, the ProBatter II-HP is an affordable alternative for nearly any organization or individual who wishes to take full advantage of the latest leading-edge technology available.
ProBatter pitching simulators are in use at nearly every level of baseball. The New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians have systems installed at Yankee Stadium and Jacobs Field, respectively, while the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and Chiba Marines (of the Japanese Professional League) have units installed at their training sites. Division I college programs, including Connecticut, Maine, Old Dominion and Nevada, utilize ProBatter in their training regimen, and the systems are available in scores of batting cages and baseball training centers around the country.
