Baden NWAC Men’s & Women’s Players of the Year

Vancouver, WA - The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) office is proud to announce that sophomore guard, Brianna (Bri) King from the Community Colleges of Spokane is the Baden NWAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.  King led the CCS Sasquatch to the NWAC championship (first since 84) this past March, and named championship tournament MVP.  King is the two-time east region player of the year and is the school all-time single-season scoring leader with 660 points.  She averaged 18 points per game overall this season while averaging 27 points per game during tournament. King also set the individual scoring mark in championship history with 46 points.  She also finished her career as the all-time leading scorer in Community Colleges of Spokane history with 1175 points.

Sophomore forward, Jacob McCord from Big Bend Community College is the 2017 Baden NWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year.  McCord finished the season averaging a double-double with 25.6 ppg.  and 12 rebounds per game.   Both his scoring and rebound totals topped the NWAC leaderboard this season. McCord was held to single digit scoring only once in 30 games on the year with a high point game of 43. He also registered double-digit rebounds in 20 of those games with a high of 21. Known by his tremendous work ethic, leadership, and blue-collar approach, McCord is a player who never took a practice or game off.  His skills, along with an excellent GPA, McCord has committed to play for Idaho State University in the fall.
