SideOut Foundation

Baden continues to be the official ball of The Side-Out Foundation, creating exclusive Dig Pink® line of volleyballs and other products to support Side-Out’s mission.

RENTON, Wash. (February 8, 2018) – Baden Sports, Inc., today announced it has been selected to continue to provide the official ball of The Side-Out Foundation, a Virginia-based non-profit organization dedicated to making a significant and identifiable difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families by supporting clinical trials, increasing patient support services and educating communities.

Baden will continue to create an exclusive line of indoor, outdoor and novelty volleyballs featuring Side-Out’s Dig Pink® logo and a pink color pattern, representing the international color of breast cancer awareness, as part of the multi-year agreement. The Side-Out line also will include a select variety of balls with the Dig Pink® logo.

The Baden volleyballs will continue to be used exclusively in Side-Out events, including high school, college and club matches sponsored by the organization.

“We’re excited to be partnering with The Side-Out Foundation and helping raise awareness for such a worthy cause,” said Michael Schindler, CEO, Baden Sports. “At Baden, we’ve built our reputation on quality and innovation. We’re confident our volleyballs will provide a consistent, reliable and high-performing experience for participants in Side-Out’s events nationwide, while also serving as a reminder of the organization’s important work.”

The exclusive products will be available online at www.shopdigpink.com, where all profits are contributed to The Side-Out Foundation, and also through Baden’s website, dealers and at select retail outlets.

Baden volleyballs are known for their industry-leading quality, durability and playability. Specific balls to be included in the Side-Out line are Baden’s highest-quality leather and composite game balls – the Perfection® VX5EC and Lexum Comp VX450C, respectively – and Baden’s top camp and training ball, the BVSL 14-8102-A MatchPoint Volleyball.

“We are happy to continue our partnership with Baden and having them provide the official Dig Pink® volleyball for teams across the nation,” said Rick Dunetz, executive director of The Side-Out Foundation. “Baden’s belief in the strong bond between sport and community is closely aligned with Side-Out’s of using the power of sport to create a greater community impact. The two beliefs coming together make for a natural fit between both sides.”

About The Side-Out Foundation

The Side-Out Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Fairfax, VA that harnesses the power of volleyball players to host Dig Pink® volleyball tournaments that raise money for critical research of late stage metastatic breast cancer – the least funded form of breast cancer scientific studies. In 2016, a total of 765 different high school, college and club teams from coast to coast contributed $1,138,337 to Side-Out’s directed clinical trials which take place at leading cancer institutions in the United States. This grassroots campaign raised more money in 2016 for the breast cancer cause than individual efforts staged by multi-billion dollar leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL. Two-time Olympic Beach Volleyball medalist April Ross, who lost her mother to breast cancer, is an advocate for the charity. Over the years, Side-Out has raised more than $13 million for research on the disease, has completed two successful clinical trials using Side-Out’s individualized treatment protocols and is currently in the midst of a third trial, it’s largest yet. Volleyball coaches across the country use the events as a team building experience that also reinforces the role sports can and should play in supporting athletes’ communities off the court.
